Who I am
I’m a graduate of Howard University’s journalism program, where I built a strong foundation in reporting, multimedia production, and visual and written storytelling.
In the fall, I’m starting at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and pursuing a master’s degree in sociology. I am looking forward to studying media, culture, and power.
I am passionate about media, specifically journalism, as a calling and a career path. I’m especially interested in how journalism and social science can work together.

During my time at Howard, I studied journalism and graphic design. I was involved with our campus magazine, newspaper and multiple social media campaigns. I used my multimedia knowledge from my coursework and deepened my proficiency with internships and other extracurricular activities in D.C. and at home in California.
As a writer, storytelling and facilitating other’s ideas is my priority. The stories that excite me are culturally diverse and socially relevant. Art, culture, nature and entertainment are my preferred beats.
As a designer, I enjoy using visuals to tell on-brand and important stories. I am proficient in the Adobe Suite (specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop). And have experience curating, designing and assigning editorial design projects.
